Want to know when we launch the next GuateFlow Gathering?
(Expected Jan/Feb 2028)

Three days of movement, fire, creativity, music and community in the mountains.

CFF is a village: everyone welcome, everyone invited to share.

Whether you’re a complete beginner, a seasoned flow artist, a dancer, a juggler or simply curious — this is where people come together to learn, play, create and connect. No experience required. Just bring your curiosity.

Imagine spending a weekend where your days are filled with workshops, your evenings glow with fire performances, and every conversation leads to a new friend or a new skill. Wake up surrounded by nature. Learn something you’ve never tried before. Dance under the moon. Play with fire — safely. Leave feeling inspired.

Set in the Wuyi Mountains at FUTURES, Heart Circus Village — peaks rising through clouds, rivers carving ancient paths, temples quietly defying time. For three days in September we build a small, temporary village here, and see what happens.

“No one dances with fire and leaves unchanged.”

CFF Teachers
Lucero Ponce 卢瑟罗-
hoop, silk fans, belly dance

Belly Dance
Starting from independent movement of the chest, waist, pelvis and arms, you connect your body with the music while discovering softness, stability and strength.

Lucero Ponce is a Peruvian Flow Artist whose movement style is pure magic — blending hula hoop, belly dance, buugeng, and balancing into an expressive, hypnotic flow. Her vibe is a fusion of technical mastery and deep body awareness, turning every performance into an experience.

Lucero’s journey started in 2010 with modern, belly, and contemporary dance, along with yoga and meditation. Flow Arts entered her life in 2015, through hoop — and from there, everything expanded. She brings the grace of a dancer, the presence of a yogi, and the fire of a performer to every prop she touches.

As one half of Equilibra, her world-traveling duo with Gustavo Ollitta, Lucero has performed across 25+ countries, lighting up festival stages, retreats, and international shows. Whether she’s on stage or leading a workshop, she’s always innovating — blending circus, dance, and flow to inspire the next generation of movers.

VOJTA Stolbenko 沃伊塔
Poi, Staff spinning, Staff Juggling, Body Movement

Intermediate Poi (Intermediate)
Build on the fundamentals by exploring direction changes, body turns, transitions and movement through space. Individual tricks are connected into continuous flow, so poi becomes part of your body’s movement rather than simply spinning around you.

Intermediate Staff Tossing (Intermediate)
Integrates tosses into footwork, turns and full-body movement, while developing relaxed recovery after mistakes and catches.

Meet Vojta, the Czech-born flow artist, acrobat, and an innovator in the Poi world today. Known for his next-level technique and high-energy performances, Vojta blends movement, fire, and creativity to push the boundaries of what’s possible with spinning.

With over a decade of experience, he’s not just a top-tier performer — he’s helped shape the global flow scene. He’s toured and trained with legendary troupes like Supercho, Cercle de Feu, Mandalights, and Phoenix Fire Dancers, lighting up stages from Europe to Asia and beyond. Whether it’s spinning fire, flipping through the air, or dropping precise tech combos, his flow is sharp, dynamic, and unforgettable.

Off stage, Vojta is just as impactful. He’s the creator of PoiTutorials.com, where he shares over 150 step-by-step tutorials and epic videos — including the viral hit The Future Is Now. He’s a passionate teacher, hosting workshops and retreats around the world, always down to share knowledge and hype up the next generation of spinners.

If you’re looking for inspo, innovation, and insane skill — Vojta delivers.

Kevin Aleri 凯文
contact Staff, ground work

Beginner Contact Staff (Beginner Friendly)
Using slow, complete movements you’ll explore the relationship between the staff, your body, your breathing and your centre of gravity. Rather than relying on strength, you’ll learn posture, pathways and whole-body power to create effortless movement.

Intermediate Contact Staff (Intermediate)
Expand from basic rolls and balances into continuous transfers across different body parts, exploring direction changes and flowing pathways so contact staff becomes natural body movement rather than isolated tricks.

In 2005, Kevin discovered the new art of fire performance. Immediately, he catapulted onto the stage and started busking in the streets before the great Parisian monuments. They founded the SuperCho company that same year. His shows quickly became a huge success thanks to his innovative and original ideas and his training as a sound engineer.

He has been performing all over the world. He is now also very active behind the stage, growing his company and doing a lot of organization. He’s designing acts and choreographies, and programming LED props. Programming LED props is another of his specialities, having made some of the first iconic shows, such as Concerto Chromatique. With his strong entrepreneurial spirit, he intends to take this company to the end of the dream!

Kevin is a master with Contact Staff and Double Staff. He’s also professionally performing with Poi, Buugeng, and Dragon Staff.

Thibault MICHEL 蒂博
Movement and Dance, Juggling

Juggling & Object Manipulation
Develop rhythm, focus and coordination through ball juggling, multi-ball patterns, spatial awareness and improvisation — with movement and dance woven through. Perfect for beginners and experienced jugglers alike.

Thibault stumbled into juggling in the summer of 2014 with nothing but 3 sock balls and pure curiosity. What started as a random obsession quickly turned into a whole universe. Self-taught at first, he spent hours learning tricks alone before joining the Circus School of Lomme in the north of France.

There, he developed his own style — a mix of juggling and movement inspired by contemporary dance. Not just throwing objects in the air, but turning juggling into something fluid, physical, and almost hypnotic.

Today, Thibault performs with Cie Circographie in Au café des nonchalants and Fractures, with Cie NDE in Copyleft and Juventud, while also collaborating on other creative projects. His work blends circus, dance, and raw emotion into performances that feel alive, unexpected, and deeply human.

YUN 云
Chinese Sword dance

Contact Improvisation (Beginner Friendly)
Beginning from a single point of contact, you learn to listen to yourself and to another body through shared weight, directional response and simple partner movement.

Contact Improvisation (Intermediate)
Explores trust, judgement, changing weight, speed, spatial direction and continuous movement, so that each interaction creates new possibilities.

Chinese Sword Dance
Form, breath and blade — movement drawn from Chinese martial and dance tradition.

Yun Yi is a movement artist active in China’s underground flow and Contact Improvisation scene, known for blending fire dance, Contact Improvisation, martial arts, somatic movement, and traditional Chinese opera into a style that feels both ancient and futuristic. After beginning professional opera training at age 11 at the China Conservatory of Traditional Opera, her path evolved far beyond classical performance — moving into deep exploration of body awareness, neuroscience, meditation, and free movement practices.

Over the years, she has become a respected figure in China’s movement community through her workshops, performances, and facilitation work, building bridges between traditional Chinese movement culture and modern flow arts. Her practice combines Dao Ma Dan energy, improvisation, qigong principles, and embodied movement research, creating experiences that are powerful, raw, immersive, and deeply human. From fire circles to somatic movement spaces, Yun Yi brings a unique presence that inspires people to reconnect with instinct, expression, and the intelligence of the body.

Laury Chanty 劳瑞
Buugeng, poi, DJ

Beginner Poi (Beginner Friendly)
Starting from your very first time holding poi, you’ll learn the relationship between swinging, circles, direction and rhythm. Rather than rushing into difficult tricks, the class helps the body relax so that your hands, eyes, feet and the prop begin moving together naturally. Suitable for complete beginners or anyone wanting to rebuild their foundations.

Laury Chanty is a multi-talented artist blending music, technology, and live performance into one seamless experience.

As a producer and composer, he worked closely with Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo (Daft Punk) in the studio and collaborated with Rico the Wizard on “Feel It Coming.” He later sharpened his edge in modern sound design with Ben Cantil (Berklee / ZEE), pushing his sound into more experimental territory.

On stage, Laury is the co-director of the SuperCho company alongside Kévin Arleri, leading a crew of ten juggling artists. His work mixes fire juggling, illusion, and cutting-edge tech, creating shows that feel both raw and futuristic.

Trained in new magic at the CNAC (National Circus Arts Conservatory), he approaches every project as a full creative playground—blending storytelling, choreography, music, scenography, and media into one cohesive vision.

And when he’s not building shows, you’ll find him behind the decks—bringing that same energy to the dancefloor as a DJ at China Flow Retreat.

David "Frenchy" 大卫
Contact ball, ball juggling

David French—better known as Frenchy—is a performer, creator, and professional bringer of good vibes with more than 20 years of experience turning streets, stages, and festivals into unforgettable experiences.

From mesmerising audiences as a contact juggler and living statue across four continents to touring the UK festival scene as the drummer for the ten-piece party powerhouse Backyard Rhythm Orchestra, Frenchy has spent his life making people stop, smile, and join the fun.

His style blends precision and play: the calm presence of a living statue, the mischievous energy of a clown, and a deep instinct for rhythm, character, and perfect timing.

For the past three years, he’s been training at Paradise Circus in Thailand, diving deeper into fire performance, movement, and improvisation—continuing to evolve, experiment, and bring a little more magic wherever he goes.

Maya 玛雅
silk fans

Beginner Fans (Beginner Friendly)
Starting with opening, closing and basic fan handling, you’ll explore circles, arcs, turns and footwork while learning wrist control, direction changes and simple combinations that make the fans both soft and powerful.

Zhu Yi “Da Long” 朱毅
crystal ball, contact ball

Beginner Crystal Ball (Beginner Friendly)
Learn basic palm balancing, visual focus and the illusion that the crystal ball appears to float in space. Simple hand transitions gradually create smooth, calm and controlled movement.

Intermediate Crystal Ball (Intermediate)
Continue exploring continuous movement between both hands, wrists and body, focusing on visual presentation, movement speed and stage presence.

Yu Guo 于果
body awareness, movement

Body Awareness (Beginner Friendly)
Begin from your body’s real condition — observing weight, breathing, emotion, relationships and self-expression.

Advanced Body Practice (Intermediate)
Develop deeper physical awareness and expressive movement.

Nana 娜娜
double staff, tech fans

Beginner Double Staff (Beginner Friendly)
Double staff practice is “a conversation between the left and right hand.” Beginning with grips, single-hand rotations and coordination, you gradually develop symmetry, crossing patterns and continuous movement.

Tech Fans
Advanced fan manipulation and movement — building on the basics into intricate technique and expression.

Li Peng 李鹏
shaolin slow staff

Shaolin Slow Staff (Beginner Friendly)
Focuses on the relationship between breathing and the body’s centre of gravity rather than speed or combat — martial form as a moving meditation.

Fan Licheng 范力诚
ballet bodywork

Beginner Ballet Bodywork (Beginner Friendly)
Through posture, core activation, extension and balance, you’ll discover body alignment while building stability and graceful movement.

Advanced Ballet Bodywork (Intermediate)
Further develops body centre, control, weight transfer and movement extension, applying ballet structure to flow arts movement.

Jammala Drum Group 贾马拉
african dance, drumming

African Dance (Beginner Friendly)
Rather than formal dance training, this workshop uses drumming, steps and body movement to help you find relaxed, grounded and joyful movement — experiencing community through rhythm.

Azi 阿孜
mask making

Mask Making (Open Level)
Create a personal mask from raw materials, exploring identity, animals, memories or imagined characters. The making process becomes an exploration of hiding and being seen.

Cao Zhiyin 曹之音
buugeng

Buugeng (Intermediate)
The beauty of Buugeng comes from curves, symmetry and visual illusion. Beginning with grip and wrist control, students explore rotational pathways, graphical patterns and visual structures that breathe with rhythm and personal expression.

CFF Program Highlights

Seven things that only happen here. Across three days and three nights in the Wuyi Mountains, the programme moves from quiet ceremony to full-blown fire celebration.

01 — Mid-Autumn Moon Offering Ceremony
Under the full moon of the starlit mountains, with fire and tea, we honour nature, honour togetherness, and honour this moment we share. CFF falls on the Mid-Autumn Festival — the most important night of reunion in the Chinese year.

02 — Fire Torch Night Procession
Torches in hand, we walk together through forest and village. The firelight shows the path through the night — and lights up each other’s eyes.

03 — Tea Makers’ Market
Wuyishan is one of the great tea regions of the world. Tea makers and craftspeople gather to share good tea, beautiful vessels and the aesthetics of slow living — meeting slowly, in the valley.

04 — The Spontaneous Night Market
A free, unruly exchange: old objects, handmade things, sounds and stories, flowing freely through the dark. Bring something to trade.

05 — Sparks Village
A temporary, warm little village. Points of firelight gather into a crowd, and connection is built between mountain and field. This is the part everyone remembers.

06 — Fire Dance Competition
Move the body, challenge the limit. A stage inside the flames, the valley as the audience — and every dance is a burning.

07 — International Guest Fire Night
Fire artists from around the world bring a cross-cultural feast of flame, celebrating the power of freedom and creation. More than 100 fire artists will gather to perform, create and inspire.

IS CHINA FLOW FEST FOR ME?

You don’t need experience. At all.

You don’t need to be an artist. You don’t need to know how to dance. You don’t need to have touched a fire prop before.

Most workshops run at different levels, so you can jump in where you feel comfortable and grow from there.

👉 New to flow? We’ve got you — and a prop you can borrow.
👉 Already deep in it? Expand your style and push your flow further.

Just bring yourself. Bring your friends. Bring your family. Even bring your dog. We’ll build a little village in the mountains together — and who knows what might happen. ✨
